Pain is an integral part of our life and our growth. All of us have sometime or the other suffered such deep hurt that its pain leaves an indelible scar in our psyche. We find it very difficult to let it go! Rather we tend to nurture the hurt by recalling it again and again in our mind. We seem to draw a negative power from it and make it our defence to protect ourselves from future onslaughts of pain. However, this does not help as we slowly develop the habit of being either martyrs or victims sometimes revengeful too! All these are negative identities and they hamper our true growth. We are not able to enjoy good relationships. People begin to shun our company. Lot of time and energy is wasted ruminating on this worthless garbage. This state is far from our true identity of a bliss-full being. We become mentally and physically weak and become an easy prey to diseases of the body and mind. It is absolutely essential to deal with our pain.

Now the question is what to do with this baggage of pain and hurt? It has by now become a part of our identity and we can’t let it go too!

The only solution is to channel this hurt and pain to help others to cope with the similar kind of pain. The moment we decide to do this, dis-association from this pain begins. We step aside from our false facade and become observers. Now we can clearly see the details of our pain and the damage it has caused. We engage ourselves in exploring the best way to get rid of it. Almost immediately we figure out the best solution. Having mastered the strategy, we look for those who are still suffering this pain. Let me assure you there are plenty! Our own pain is almost forgotten now. We now have the strength to redeem this pain through service to others. Since we have gone through this pain, we can easily understand the pain of others. This gives us the unique power of guiding these people out of the dungeon of hurt and pain. Our position immediately changes from being a victim to a guide. This makes us feel empowered. We can almost immediately feel a surge of healing power within us. Waves of compassion now permeate the body and mind and freely flow to the heal others. People feel drawn to us as we touch them with our empathy. They come to us, get healed and move on in life. The very fact that we have been service to others boosts our self-esteem.

The pain and hurt which was wrenching our heart is now replaced by a feeling ecstasy of being in control. The idea of being service to others is the magic wand which transforms pain into compassion. We have learnt an important lesson of life and will no longer ever face the monster of hurt and pain. Our spiritual strength increases and once again we get in sync with nature.

With a bright heart and a lighter step we can move on in life now!

Forever In Gratitude To Her Divine Grace and blessings of Gurudev!
