Bach Flower Remedies

This system was propounded by Dr. Edward Bach. Dr.Bach was a qualified bacteriologist and a pathologist turned a homeopath. He believed that if there is disharmony in the action of the body and the purpose of the soul, this will cause negative emotions and ultimately cause disease in the physical body. Almost every physical distress in the body can be traced to some disturbance in the emotional body which is its root cause. He identified 38 flower essences which corresponded to the various emotions in the body equipment .If these are administered at the very onset of the disturbance.it can restore the balance and prevent it from becoming a physical ailment. The administration of these is very simple and is completely safe and harmless.

“Final and complete healing will come from within, from the Soul itself, which by His Beneficence radiates harmony throughout the personality when allowed to do so.”

Aroma Therapy

The word ‘aroma’ is derieved from the Greek word ‘spice.’ To-day it broadly means fragrance.’Therapy’ means curative treatment. And ‘aroma therapy’ means therapy by the use of fragrance. It is a form of complementary medicine. It consists of the use of aromatic essences or oils extracted from wild or cultivated plants. It draws on the healing powers of the plant i.e instead of using the whole or part of the plant it employs only its essential oils. This potent aromatic substance is housed in the tiny glands on the outside or deep inside the root, wood, leaves, flowers or fruit of the plant.

Medical Astrology

Since the ancient times the Ayurvedic doctors (Vaids) have been using the knowledge of astrology as a powerful tool to not only diagnose diseases but also to treat them. It was a common practice to cast the birth-chart of the patient to check the onset, severity and the duration of the disease. So the medical aspect of astrology is as old as the study of astrology itself. Before we explore this aspect, let us answer the basic question—“How do the planets affect us?

Astrology

There is a very poignant principle in Vedic Philosophy - “As above so below”. According to this principle just as we have a solar system above us, we have a similar solar system in our body as well. Both the systems are similar not only in their gross structure but also in their basic functioning.

An individual's life is a series of cause and effect. Astrology endeavours to study the relationship between these two. The position of planets at the time of birth and the cosmic rays coming from them charts the course of events in a person's life. The effects can be positive or negative. It is human tendency not to accept any negative effect and to expect only positive results. Therein comes the need for remedies which are meant to and sometimes do, to some extent, mitigate the ill-effects of planets. However, Astrology promises much more.

Numerology

Life is a manifestation of energy. This holds true for planets as well. Each planet emits vibrations which create  a specific energy field each linked to a specific number.  It is interesting to know that the number can virtually tell about every aspect of life, his hopes, ambitions and also the obstacles he is likely to face.

Tarot

From times immemorial tarot cards have been used as a tool of divination and guidance. There are 78 cards in total. Cards from 0 to 21 are called the major Arcana cards. Cards from 22 to 78 are called minor Arcana cards. The minor Arcana cards are grouped into four categories – Aces, Swords, Wands and Pentacles. Tarot cards are a reflection of our thoughts and personality.

Colour Therapy

Believe it or not, but what hue you are tells more about how you are on a particular day. We live in the wonderful world of colours. These colours have a profound effect on our psyche. We all respond in different ways to different colours; some colours help us to relax while some can make us irritable. Wearing certain colours can ensure a raise, win an argument and even encourage friends to spill the latest gossip!

Gem Therapy

Gems have been used in Astrology from the time of its inception for curing diseases (both mental and physical), preventing accidents and averting misfortunes. A thorough examination is done of the horoscope before ascertaining the weak planet and the gem required. The prescribed gem should be equal in weight to the number of” ansh” or ions deficient. According to astrology one carat(roughly) or ratti of the gem contains a specific number of ions which are prescribed according to the horoscope. These are different for different people. Gems can  be worn in the form of amulets or rings or pendents. All of them are almost equally effective. Ayurveda uses this knowledge and prescribes ash made of various gems to be ingested by the patient. It is believed in astrology that the diseases are caused by  certain planets and the diseases  can be cured by  gems sacred to those planets. The cure thus provided is based on the theory of radiations of the cosmic colours.

Runes

Runes like tarot cards is again a tool for divination, guidance, and spiritual evolution. Day to day events and significant changes in life can not only be predicted but also protected against adverse events.

Fengshui

The word therapy means the treatment of disease or disorder by remedial, rehabilitating or curative process. Fengshui fits in very well in this definition. Fengshui as we all know means wind and water. Wind and water we all know are energies and are characterised by their ability of movement, hence Fengshui is the study of movement of the energy - the harmonious flow of ch’i (as energy is defined in Chinese). It is common observation that a garden where the flower beds are  clogged the plants die. Similarly if the flow of energy is blocked in our environment we cannot lead a harmonious life. Here in lies the use of Fengshui principles to remedy the flow of ch’i. Many cures are used to help to harmonise the environment.

Rhythmic Breathing

This kind of breathing methods are a set of five exercises which help to pace the breath in a rhythm which is akin to the rhythm of the cosmos. This helps one to remain healthy and harmonious.

Reiki

Reiki is a form of healing developed in 1922 by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui. This is used to connect to the divine energy which heals body, mind and soul.
