Analysing Panchang.

Astrology was developed by our seers for the benefit of the humanity. They did surveys and collected data of the people at large and formulated a system which could be used as a guideline for leading a good life. They meditated and many truths were revealed to them as intuition which further added to their knowledge. A basic astrological estimation can be made on the basis of PANCHANG or Almanac.

Panchang consists of five limbs -

1. VAAR (Day)

2. TITHI (Day according to Indian calendar)

3. Nakshtra (constellation)

4. YOG

5. KARAN Let us first take up the first limb i.e- VAAR or Day. Readers can take out their horoscopes and check out the following details. Name- A.B.C Date Of Birth- 12.6.1978 (imaginary) Details like time of birth, latitude, longitude are only useful to the astrologer and are not needed by the reader. Day Of Birth: There are different results for the birth on different days. Let us take them one by one. Sunday-Natives born on Sunday show the following features- They are generally lucky, speak less, good education, wise, happy go lucky, religious, keeps neat habits, have good friends and relatives, have a good personality. They have to face adverse conditions at the age of 20 and 22. The related planet is Sun. Monday- Polite, happy go lucky, speaks less, cool nature, balanced in all situations. Good education skilled, brave, humanitarian. Prone to cough and vaat. Weak constitution. Leads luxurious life. Faces adverse health conditions at the age of 9, 12, 27. Related planet is Moon. Tuesday—Wealthy, rude, not good relations with people, no interest in religious affairs, shows valor in arguments, aggressive, prone to blood infections and skin diseases, does not have good relations with parents. Adverse years 1, 2 and 3. Related planet is Mars. Wednesday— Wise, cultured, polite, good looking, philosophical, respects parents, fond of art, religious, lazy, can develop addiction. May face adverse conditions at the age of 8 and 22 years. Related planet is Mercury. Thursday- Wealthy, educated, wise, brave, steady in religious affairs. Scholar, progressive, well respected in society, happy with friends. May face adverse health conditions at the age of 7, 12, 13, 16 and 30 years. Related planet being Jupiter. Friday— Happy disposition, wise, polite, tolerant, likes to lead a life of luxury, multitalented, wealthy, does not have focused views, interested in art and music, astrology and medicine, a good speaker, has a good lifestyle. Has to face adverse conditions at the age of 20-24 years. Related planet being Venus.

Saturday --- Greedy, interested in business and agriculture. Faces hardships in childhood. Not happy to see the progress of others. Keeps friendship with low people. Interested in older women. Keeps wandering. Difficult years are 20, 25 and 45 years. Enjoys a long life. Related planet is Saturn.

TITHI

The next limb we take up is or the date according to the Indian calendar. Given below are the general indications of natives born on the various tithis. Pratipada (1 st day):- Health conditions are not good, weak, not good for the family, artificial life style. Dwitiya (2 nd day):- Not of good character, speech is bad, keeps bad company, interested in using wrong means, does not have affection for anyone. Tritya (3 rd day):- Spendthrift, lazy, not very intelligent, not hard working, dissatisfied, low and scattered views, always in search of means of livelihood. Chaturthi (4 th day):- A scholar, intellectual, large hearted, always worried about money, gels well with friends, likes to wear good clothes. Panchami(5 th day):- Wealthy, fond of art, businessman, professional, keeps knowledge about other profession as well. Shashthi(6 th day):- A wanderer, ill-tempered, egoist. Saptami(7 th day):- Wealthy, talented, good looks, respected in society. Ashtami(8 th day):- Truthful, wealthy, brave, endowed with good qualities donates freely. Navami(9thday):- wealthy, donates freely, educated, expert in art, has good knowledge of arms, a mendicant, desirous of learning and money. Dashami(10thday):- wealthy, talented, religious, desires the welfare of the family, travels a lot, good relations with brothers, great desire to excel in arts. Ekadashi(11thday):-Good and pious views, interested in good deeds, wealthy, holds teachers in good esteem and serves them, good indications of wealth and luxury, wants justice, respected in high class society. Dwadashi(12thday):- Travels abroad, keeps changing place of residence, desirous of learning new skills, of changeable disposition, narrow minded, body is slim and has a glow on the face. Tryodashi(13 th day):- Wealthy, well educated, brave, sincere in discharging duties, has knowledge of scriptures, well respected. Chaturdashi(14thday):- Wealthy, brave, well respected, hates telling lies, involved in good deeds, serves the poor and the saints, firm in views. Purnamasi(15 th day of the waxing fortnight):- Wise, fond good clothes and food Amavas(15day of the waning fortnight)

Let us take an example:- A native is born on Tuesday and the tithi is Ekadashi-the analysis could be–native is likely to be wealthy, has good and pious views but is not interested in religious rituals, he may have a harsh speech and rude behavior but will engage in good deeds, will show valor inseeking justice for the people, likes to lead a luxurious life, respects teachers but not blindly, can command respect in society. However, aggressiveness,engaging in unnecessary arguments,dominating nature are thechallenges he will have to overcome for his evolution. As we study further, many of the negative features above get remedied due to the benefice influence of other planets. However, readers will definitely find them of use as they will be able to make some estimation about their chart.

Yogas

The word Yoga is derived from the Sanskrit word "Yuj"' which means "'to yoke" or "to unite". Nitya yogas are formed by the union of sun and moon position in the zodiac. These yogas throw light on the characteristics of the person and the type of conditions which will unfold for him in his life. There are 27 yogas. Yogas are mentioned in the horoscope and their auspiciousness can be assessed from their names.

1.Vishkumbha.-- triumphant. - victorious over enemies, achievements, wins over others. gets property and wealth.

2.Preeti-happy- well- appreciated, attracted to opposite sex, enjoys life.

3.Ayushman- well -rooted.-Enthusiastic, long lived and enjoys well- being.

4.Saubhagya- good wealth.- Enjoys a happy,contented life full of prospects.

5.Shobhna-beautiful-- attracted to opposite sex, beautiful and sensuous.

6.Attiganda- problematic life.- accidents, anger and unforgiving nature.

7.Sukumar-plentiful.- performs honorable deeds,generous, prosperous and benevolent.

8.Dhriti- Enjoyment- Enjoys prosperity.

9.Shoola-Argumenatative.- Argumentative and angry.

10.Ganda- Imperfect ethics or principles, worrying personalities.

11.Vriddhi- Discrimination- intellectual, life progresses with age.

12. Dhruva-Persisitent- Dependable- stable personality, able to focus and persevere.

13.Vyaghat- violent.-unkind, hurts others.

14.Harshana- Pleasure.- Pleasure ,blissful- intellectual, cheerful ,pleasant.

15.Vajra- power rush :wealthy, changeable, lascivicious

16. Siddhi- Victory- clever and talented, defender of others.

17. Vyatipat- difficulty: inclined to unexpected mishaps and set backs,fickle minded,untrustworthy.

18. Variyaan- luxurious comfort: loves comfort and amenity,lazy ,lascivious.

19.Parigha- Hindrance:- has to encounter various problems to progress in life,short-tempered.

20.Shiva- benevolent: calm,spiritual,intellectual and respected by authority.

21. Sidhha- Talented : helpful personality, pleasing nature, ritualistic.

22.Saadhya- Mediation: polite,well-mannered,accomplished.

23.Shubha- Favourable: Well-off, health issues,short-tempered and accomplished.

24.Shukla- Bright: talkative,unreliable, annoyed and thoughtless changeable mind.

25.Brahma- responsible: truthful, stable, ambitious, good judgement.

26.Indra- Headship: well off,oblidging curious to gain knowledge.

27.Vaidhriti- Divisive: Dangerous, conniving nature and influential.

Karan:

The fifth limb of Panchang is Karan.

It is based upon the Lunar Day or Tithi. Actually, it is s just half of a Tithi. Technically, a Karan is said to be completed when the difference between the locations of the Moon and Sun crosses multiple of six degrees.

There are total 11 Karanas in Astrology; Bava, Baalav, Kaulav, Taitil, Gar, Vanij, Vishti, Shakuni, Chatushpad, Naag, Kinshtughna. The first 7 Karans are known as 'Char', which means variable and the last 4 Karnas are called as 'Sthir' which means constant.

Effects of Karan:

1.Bav Karana Individuals born in Bav Karana in Astrology are spiritual and like to be involved in holy activities. They are dutiful and have faith in giving their best to any work that’s given to them. 2.Baalav Karana Baalav Karana also gives a spiritual nature to the person. People born in Balav Karana may do pilgrimage and spend more time of their life doing spiritual activities. 3.Kaulav Karana A person born in the Kaulav Karana is very friendly. This Karana gives its people some of the best talents like love and caring. 4.Taitil Karana Persons born in Taitil Karana are very lucky. They have a wealthy life and become a possessor of buildings and properties. Love has an important role in their life and maybe this is the reason they are open minded. 5.Gar Karana As per Astrology, people of Gar Karana are alert. They attain their desired objective by hard work and effort. 6.Vanij Karana People of Vanij Karana are bright and smart. It is seen that they have an extreme interest in business and use this talent for earning money. 7.Vishti or Bhadrā Karana As per Astrology, the Vishti Karana is not considered fortunate. This Karana casts its negative influence on the person due to which the native might have a distrustful character. They may involve in immoral deeds. Vishti Karan is also known as ‘Bhadrā’ Karan, and is avoided in all auspicious activities. However, Vishti or ‘Bhadrā’ Karan is appropriate for destructive activities e.g. attacking an enemy, killing someone etc. 8.Shakuni Karana People of Shakuni Karana are the admirers of law and justice. They are very practical in solving conflicts. That means they can be very capable in terminating a quarrel with their cleverness. 9.Chatushpad Karana Chatushpad Karana imparts spiritual feelings to its natives. Individuals born in Chatushpad Karana respect educated people and help animals. They can become successful veterianry doctors. 10.Nāg Karana People born in Nag Karana may be have unlucky events. Their life may be full of problems. They will get results only through hard work and determination, and not through good fortune. Natives of Nag Karan are usually very irritated. 11.Kimstughna Karana People of Kimstughna Karana are very lucky. They aggressively pursue charitable work. They will get every type of contentment in their life. They also get quality education and lead a wealthy life.
